Strategic Writing

DOTMLPFI (A Division of HUBZone HQ) currently supports the development of NATO’s Strategies for Writing course that has been conducted at both Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) in Norfolk, VA and at SHAPE HQ in Mons, Belgium with a Strategic Writing Course Instructor that also performs writing, editing, and communication support for the course attendees following the course.

DOT’s activities in support of this contract include developing the Strategies for Writing course and then delivering it to attendees, which was held seven times in 2019, with five five-day courses in March, April, September, October, and November 2019 at NATO ACT and two five-day courses at SHAPE HQ in Mons in October and November 2019.     DOT also provides post-course support, with mentoring and editing assistance to previous course attendees and sending monthly email writing tips.  Finally, after each course, any small adjustments that are needed are implemented by the instructor based on course feedback.

Strategic Engagements

DOTMLPFI (A Division of HUBZone HQ) has successfully provided support since 2019 to the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of international ACT Strategic Events (identified as high-level symposia, seminars, conferences and staff coordination) for the Strategic Issues & Engagement Branch of Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT) in Norfolk, VA. These strategic events are held in NATO nations all over the world and lead to NAG/MC engagement, ensuring HQ SACT/Branch representation in accordance with the Warfare Development agenda and the Commander’s Objectives. 

  • Our contractor conducts work in support of events and the Outreach Program, ensuring that topics of strategic interests to SACT HQ are conducted, including such events as:
    • YDD: preparing brief to SACT, coordinating with key stakeholders on content and format, refining questions for discussion, designing and finalizing logo and banner
    • NME UniBo: finalizing and upload scenario, coordinating with host university overseas, executing NME
    • COTC: executing workshop in overseas, briefing SACT, assisting in organization and content development, designing logo and banner
    • NAC Away Day (NAD): supporting execution of NAD overseas taking notes and consolidating progress report
    • Other: inputs to Diamond Events Branch Handbook for stakeholder coordination

  • Assisting the Branch Head in coordinating the overarching strategic issues and briefs.
  • Liaising with the Command Action Group, COS’s Office, Directorates, Protocol, and STRATCOMM to ensure all SACT HQ engagement is coherent with the campaign plan.
  • Supporting the Branch Head in maintaining the long-term continuity of engagement activity to provide coherence, follow-through and alignment of output across the continuum of SACT’s strategic engagement.
